I already have a huge dent in my rear wheel. I do most of my riding around rocks, but I don't want to spend the money for wheels with rings. Are the aftermarket .190 wheels stonger then stock? Which one's are better? Is it worth the money to upgrade to new wheel's when I buy my tires, or should I just buy new tires and put them on my stock rims?

Thanks for the help!

The Douglas Ultimate conventional rims may possibly be stronger than stock rims, I don't know, but certainly not the Red Labels. I've replaced two of them on my Warrior. Unfortunately I sold my stock rims or I'd go back to them or possibly the new Ultimate with the rolled bead. That is where all my damage has ocurred.
Aside from the cosmetic effect, the only real advantage to Red Labels or ITP's is less unsprung weight which is important to pro riders.

I agree. The 400ex that I ride with, trashed one of his aluminum rims when he hit a stump. I hit the same stump & it dented my steel rim.

Santa, I bought a set of Douglas ultimate billets with a set of paddle tires. The center of the wheel, where the bolt pattern is, is about twice as thick as the stock 400EX wheel. The rolled bead edge looks just like the stock wheel. These aren't cheap wheels, but they are still about $70 less than the stock wheels and I'd say they are just as strong, if not stronger. Another thing you may want to consider, is going with a smaller diameter wheel. If you keep the same outside diameter on the tire but have a smaller inside diameter at the wheel, you will have a little more tire between your wheel and the rocks.

I have a question for you Santa. How do you like that full titanium Yoshimura pipe? There have been numerous posts in the past, regarding different pipes for the 400EX; however, we've never heard from anyone with the full titanium Yoshi. How is the sound level? How about the power curve? If you had to buy again would you get the same?

The Yoshi is a great exhaust. The fit and finish is the best in the business!! It added a ton of low - mid power. It is loud, but it sounds sweet. My whole exhaust weighs just a bit more then my stock head pipes! I got a great deal on the exhaust, so yes I would buy it again!!!

I have the race rims and have never had a problem, even after hitting a one foot tall stump with the right front side. It bent the tie rod but did not harm the rim. If I had the extra money I would have gotten the beadlocks though.
