The earliest model I can find info on is a '95 so the first ones probably came out in the fall of '94.

HoundDog is correct. '95 was the first production year and they were offered in the fall of '94.

I am not going to name the years they happened, but from mine to my buddies '03, here are the noticealbe differences...

Upper A arms, Carb, head pipe, front drive shaft and u-joint housings, pull start - which means the pull start itself, flywheel, and side cover, headlights, thumb throttle housing, dash panel lights, plastic color, seat cover, racks... I am sure there is more, but these are the ones I know of for sure.
