A buddy of mine has a ds650 baja and it's cutting out at 7 grand is it governed or is it another reason. If it's another reason what could it be it hasn't seen mud or barely dirt it's only been rode a little down his dirt road. Please let me know something asap cause he's wanting to ride soon.

 

Dose it have the stock rev box??? it sounds like he's bouncing off the rev limiter????????

 

it is a completely stock ds650 baja orange and black and it's quick it seemed to run fine when i rode it, just at 7 grand it start sputtering like there was something stopping up the jet. i think it a rev limiter but not sure.

 

Yes it dose sound like your rev limiter is kicking in a tad early.ds are so fast to wind up that they live on the rev limiter until you mod it with an after market[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

I think the 02 bajas rev limiter is at 7700, and the 03 i know is at 7900. Tell him to take a peak at the tach next time, if it does it at 7000 that seems to early.
