Rusty chrome rims, anyone else??
#1
MY 600 is 12 months old and the chrome rims are completely rust covered. Is anyone else having this problem? A little rust is expected but mine are totaly rusted.
I called polaris - they don't care " it's out of warrenty" Needless to say I'm a little miffed, I don't think rims should rust out in a year - in fact lawnmower rims last longer !
What am I suposed to tell honda and yamaha owners when they laugh as I go by??

I'm also starting to see it my 600 with only 150 miles on it. I'm noticing it mostly in the 'lip' where the rim meets the tire. The water collects in there when the ice/snow melts. I'm not sure what, if anything, can be done about it.

Sounds weird, but try spraying Coca-Cola on Chrome, then rubbing with aluminum foil. Worked like a champ on my '79 Bronco's chrome wheels. Took rust off and shined the crap out of the chrome. Try a small spot for yourself to see if it works for you. Oh, and remember, elbow grease is your friend.
