Default The DS stock Carb?????

So just for G.P. I took the Stock DS Carb off to see what makes it tick..............1 word..."HOLLYCRAP" its a butterfly throtle lever, with a D- slide, on a rubber vacume? with 2 main jets??? 165, and 32.5, and a slow jet @ 40, the vent tube to the air box, is that only a vent tube or what other purpose?, so this carb lifts the slide by Vacume?
Ok NOW I understand why you guys went to another carb.

The TM45 is fairly easy to tune. Whats good about it is you tell them ur mods and altitude and they throw your jets in it so that it will be close around the ball park and then u can fine tune it from there. You do have to get a cable from them for this carb, very easy also to hook up to stock thumb throttle lever. Be sure if u go with this carb to ask about the accel. pump and if it is activated on this carb, you will need the accel pump so that when u hit the throttle really fast it wont bog. Either carb. can make nice gains in the horsepower dept. There was a post a month ago about the tm45 vs. 46hv. The hv was out the box tuned dead on. The 45 had to be tuned a couple of times to get the bugs worked out but both were very close on peak hp. Do a search to find the post. Should help answer most of your questions. It did for me.
