Default pistons and boring on a banshee

i just got my banshee back today and i was told that i didnt have any idle screws and that i was getting dirt into my engine. so now i need new pistons and maybe even a crankshaft. so i was wondering what gets bored on the engine is it the cylinder or the piston that gets bored. i needed to know this because i dont know what size pistons i need to get because i found some but they all have different sizes and i dont know what size to get because im not sure if boring is on the cylinder or piston. and i dont know how to figure out what i need. all help would be appreciated

Here is what you do.... you take your cylinders to a shop and ask them to tell you what size pistons you need. Boring shouldnt cost more than 40 bucks per cylinder. They have to have the pistons before they bore it so after they tell you what to get then you go buy them and give it all to them when your done.

you dont bore pistons, you bore cylinders till their clean then match em to the next closest piston size.

none of us can tell you that, thats why you take it to your machine shop for them to measure and decide what the next size will be, then you get that size of pistons to take to them so that they can fit the new pistons to the new bore size that they rebore the cylinders to.

Nope. First they have to look at your cylinders and see how messed up they are. Then if its real bad and they're a good shop, they will bore till its clean and then tell you the nearest sized pistons to buy. Then they will match the bore to the pistons exactly. If its not real bad they will tell you what pistons to buy for the next useable overbore, then they get them and fit the bore to them. Pretty much you cant buy pistons before somone looks a the cylinders and tells you what to get.

Boring is like drilling out your cylinder liners so its clean and round, then your putting in bigger pistons to match the new size.
Boring will be between 60 and 80 for both cylinders, a piston set will cost about 150. Might as well get wiseco prolites or something similar since they dont really cost any more.
