I have an 03 raptor and sometimes the reverse light will just start blinking, no matter what gear your in or what you are doin. What the is it tryin to tell me???

 

did you currently install a reverse rev limiter?

 

Yea, but the best i remember it did it before i did rev limiter, i did the rev limiter that is displayed on raptortranny.com with the resistor attached to the two wires(if that helps at all). It used to only do it if i was riding it real hard but it did it the other day when it was cold and i had just started it up so i dunno?!?!

 

hmm: so it happened before the rev limiter was on the quad as well? umm.. i dont kno! does it affect preformance at all? the only thing i can think of is there is a short somwhere but i dunno sorry. -Matt-

 

Mine was doing the same thing and I could not get past 3000rpm. There is a wire that plugs into the sensor below the shifter shaft. I cut the wire and went strait to ground with it and problem was gone.

 

i just got done with my motor work and mine had the same problem all of a sudden and the rev limiter is going on and it wont rev sometimes, other times its fine. I think it is the ground wirh that is coming out below the shifter shaft. Bad ground i think?

 

The light will blink if you let it sit at a high idle for a few minutes without moving.

A bad groud as mentioned.

A bad connection or wire going to the speed sensor.

A bad speed sensor.

 

check the wiring make sure its not cut and touching another wire or something

 

As sixsixT said, reving in netural at high idle will kick the reverse light in blinking.
