2004.5 Sportsman 500HO throttle cable fix...pics posted
#1
I have posted pictures of what my dealer did to fix my throttle cable issue. As you can see it’s an easy fix, and hopefully Polaris will make this public to their dealers, since they came down to my dealer a took pictures. By the way, my dealer did replace the throttle cable before covering and tiring it down. As for another post of mine where my 500HO would stall when turning the handle bars all the way left or right ... turns out the choke was to tight, after a small adjustment on the back of the choke all is fixed.
By the way anyone needing a honest dealer come see.

Basically what they did was to cover the throttle cable with hose and strap it down, I am assuming they rerouted it. I have about 5 hours on mine looks like I could probably do this myself and save the trip.

thats basically what I did but to save taking the cable off I just cut the piece of hose down the middle slipped it over the cable and put a plastic tie wrap on each end to hold it seems to work good, and it will save a trip to the dealer.

Your right ... they just replaced my cable, as it was worn ... then put some fuel hose over the new cable and tied in down in two places, as they rerouted it .
