300ex-what's the best gearing

Default 300ex-what's the best gearing

my 300ex has 20" tires (stock are 22's right?), whats the best gearing for multi-purpose riding, trails, roads, a small mx track we have?? I think my sprockets are stock right now. should I change em or leave em? thanks

well wiht the pipe you have and any performance mods are gonna make you hit the rev limiter faster, also add in the fact that your tires are smaller and it will be even quicker to hit the rev limiter, you might wanna gear up. well how do u feel on it now, does it feel like u hit the rev too soon or no? i am actually going to gear up on mine

yeah especially since the pipe, when drag racing I shift 1-2-3 REALl fast, but 4 and 5th seem real drawn out. myabe I should gear up a little, maybe 1 tooth on the front??

I ordered a 14 tooth front sprocket. I'll see how that works out, heck it was only like $8....

I have have a 12 tooth on the front of mine and I like it alot. It is very easy to pull up in a wheelie, but i noticed I am always tightening my chain.
