CR686 vs. YFZ450 - No, its not close !
#1
Just defending my Raptor riding brothers ! I read a few posts before I
got my "mild" 686 done, about YFZ's beating 686's etc etc. ( Then again,
I beat them when I was piped too
Aint gonna happen . Mines only 11:1 , stage 1 cam. Just watch the launch,
the Raptor has buttloads more power outta the hole by far. This YFZ is cam
modded, ported, and higher compression piston.
This run was with Pro-Tree lights.."200ft" Pre-stage, stage, 1, 2 ,3 , green.
My timeslip on this run was 4.06 at 63mph. It was raining and the track was
pretty slick. Also, this was as close as the 3 YFZ's there got. The Raptor set
the track record earlier that day too. Ching Ching !
200ft Drag
Also beat a fresh Cheetah 500+cc Banshee by 5 quad lengths. He hit 67 through the
trap, but the Rap got there first. 200ft = Bad for Banshees LOL.
Fun day - and plenty more to come. Later.

LOL, ok Ill admit Im not a guru of time/speed stuff, and I dont have much experience with
drag quad possibilities, but at first I was believing you FMF because I didnt have any experience to
argue it... but now I see your just trying to immediately ruin my post with BS...
Thanks ! LOL.
Back to seriousness folks . At least I have a timeslip I can scan and post !

JMHO, but it looks like either the yfz spun too much right off the gitgo, or tried starting in 2nd gear. I'd like to see the same setup on pavement w/ slicks.
I'm not saying the yfz would win, but it'd be nice to see.
what mods did the yfz have?

Hebs, he did spin off the line - it was really hard to get moving ... rain, mud... slippy.
But I had the same conditions, and the motor was there to getup and go anyway. The
track was a little dryer earlier in the day, before the downpours came.. but the difference
was minor... the 686 came out even faster on the dryer stuff ( of course).
That YFZ had some porting work, aftermarket high comp. piston ( not sure on how high), cam mod.
It is pretty fast. Last year in 300ft, my Piped and lowered Raptor was beating it by only 3 feet, and
lost to it a few times too.
So, that right there shows the difference I experienced in power and drag times. Not even the same
league as before, she rips !
