ds 650 head removal

Nope!
Take a look at my picture page. It really helps to grind away a bit of the upper motor mount hear the bottom and a little on the cross member support.
You will need a bar to push the head forward to get it past the cross-bar but, the head bolts will flex enough for you to get it by.
If you don't havea grinder or don't want to do it you can leave it connected at the rear mount and tilt the engine forward.

NO, You do not have to remove the engine to get the head off. Just take the front plastic off and gas tank and remove all hoses and wires and unbolt it and the head should slide right out. I put a new piston in mine and we did it with the motor still in the frame. Lance

you don't have to but your only going to be like one bolt away from pulling the engine, i did mine two with the engine in the first time then i had to pull the engine to go to 720 think it was easier to take it out.
