Is a midpipe really necessary?

Is a midpipe really necessary?
I bought FMF Power Core 4 & Power Bomb Header for my Rappy. It seems to fit fine, and mounts regularly to the frame without a midpipe. Is it necessary? Anyone else out there can shed some light on this? Thx.

Dont really know watcha mean by "mid pipe", but i installed a Power Core 4 and Hi-Flow header on my 01 Rappy with no installation probs,,,,,just header and silencer. But be ready to re-jet. Bosch
