How to fix a bent frame on the rancher???
#1
Last week my girl friend flipped my rancher. No big deal, I was just glad she wasn't hurt. The quad's only damage was the back rack. The left side is about 1" lower than the right. Anybody know how to fix it?
I think the frame is what is actually bent...my reason for that thinking is that the rack is no closer or farther away from the fender on either side.

I don't know much about the Rancher's frame. Is the rear rack part of the actual frame ?? I wouldn't think so, but maybe.. If not I take the rake off and try to bend the rack back to normal or close too. I actually bought my quad with a bent frame.. knowing that I know a auto body and frame mechanic. So we cut the frame where it was bent, put it on a frame machine and straightened it out !! Welded in the new frame pieces. Good as new !! In your case.. I think you can even buy a new rack or bent it back.. If it is your frame.. i suggest you try to follow the same procedure I did. Its the only way it will be fixed correctly!!
Good luck !!!!

String up the low side of the rack from a strong tree limb or roof joist with a comealong or winch; gradually tighten the line as you jump up and down on the rack until it becomes level. You can achieve the same result with a high-lift jack, raising the low side from the floor.

Deadeye, it sounds like your rancher got the exact same damage mine did from my roll. Did you bend the frame or the rack were it meets the frame by the storage box? My damage was only to the racks. I bent some of mine back with a crowbar and will do the rest when my ribs are healed. I will not take them off right now, because they are very bent around the mount and I know if I take them off, they will never go back on. I don't think they will ever look perfect again, but as my friends say, "it adds personality".

Im looking at the same thing on my bro's recon. It may down bent downward a little more than yours. With my experience with bent metal, which I've been know to cause, the correct way would be to take the rack off and heat it and bend it back straight. You'll have to paint it of course. Doing it without heating will cause fatigue that could crack down the road or while your bending it. I'd take it to a local welder and let him do it if I didn't have access to a propane or acetyline torch.
