Mudlites 26X10 all around on 400 ACT
#1
I have some mudlites on order for my 2004 400 ACT. I ordered 26x10x12 for the front and 26x12x12 for the back. From what I have read I think the 12 wides on the back will rub my shocks on the ACT suspension. Should i go for the aliminum 1" spacer for the rear? Or should I run 26X10X12 on all four rims? Is anybody running these same tires on all four corners and did you like them? Thanks

A friend put that size mudlites on his 02 375 ACT. He also used the C-series rims. The only trouble he had was with some sort of brake lever that he had to reposition.

I have an 03 400 ACT with 27" Claws on it. I added 1" spacers and this helped immensly. If I run the tires @ 5-6 PSI , they never hit the springs, if I run 'em @ 3 PSI (which I do) they only rub when the sidewall flexes a lot in off-camber situations. It's only the muffler side that hits, lots of room on the other side. It's not a big deal to me it's not causing any damage, and only rub occasionally. You could safely run 26X10's all the way around. The Bearclaws have big side lugs, that's why they rub, probably wouldn't with other type of tires.

I love the 'claws. They're like tractor tires, tenacious grip on all surfaces. I liked them because they're a flat profile tire. By that I mean they have a wide footprint. I was going to get mudlights, but they're rounded , and if you look at them, they don't have much more contact on the ground than the stockers. I'm running 27X10 front and 27X12 rears. I wanted good rim protection and they're excellent being that they're wide. Vastly improved the stability and handling on my quad. They're tough as nails being 6 ply, and have stiff sidewalls. With the 27" tires, the lugs are big on the back, and adequate on the front. My steering effort increased a little, but it's a small price to pay. I lost 2-3 mph on top end, not a big deal to me, if I wanted a racer, I'd ave bought one. Take it easy,
