Default New Generation "Quiet" Pipes

Does anyone have any experience with:

1. White Brothers E2
2. Pro Circuit 496
3. FMF Q

I still haven't picked a pipe yet for my Raptor and I really don't want something as
loud as my old Toomey's. They were a great pipe on stock engines, just way to loud.
I'd like to stay within 96 to 98db, yet still get some real performance gains. The only
reviews I've found haven't been very helpful. Anyone have any links or opinions?

just installed an E2 on my raptor friday (see pics). it's a little louder than what i expected, but i haven't had a chance to compare to anything yet. i haven't really had a chance to ride it much, just took it down the road and back, but it does seem to have more power. the instructions said "no jetting required", so i haven't messed with the jetting. currently no air box mods and stock filter. i will have an update once i get some seat time. price: 294.99 free shipping.

I would go with the Yoshi. Honestly it's been rated one of the best, plus I think it was also rated the quietest. I installed one last week with no lid and jets... It halls butt!!

It's really good to see some R&D going into pipes that make good power and less noise, some people like the noise I think having less noise would be great as long as it's not slow

I got a yoshi and it's pretty loud. Those e2's don't require a rejet? That seems kinda pointless to even put your money into it. if your not rejetting your not making all that much more power. If you were to remove your lid and add a K&N filter you'll notice some power gains if you rejetted.

I like the idea of these quiet pipes too but right now they just don't make enough HP for me to switch.

I can't see plunking down $250-300 for a muffler that does not need rejetting. Rejetting = moving more air through an engine = more power.

So all this makes sense (and doesn't). I agree that a free flowing exhaust, regardless of
it's sound (db) rating needs rejetting to increase the intake of the system. However, that
said, the new dual exhaust from Pro-Circuit for the KFX 700 claims you don't have to do
anything but bolt it on.

I've always like Yoshi and White Brothers, that's why I'm so interested in the E2. I'll be really
interested to hear from kawip650 once he has some time on his new pipe. I finally did find some
sites, all motocross, dealing with the FMF Q, and the results are mixed. However, everyone
rejetted for this pipe! The consensus seems that it helped low to mid-range, but hurt the top-end.

I would just like to stay within that magic 96 - 98db range. It's not only easier on my ears, but
everyone elses as well!

The Yosh pipe is LOUD. I have had one for a year and a half. I have had it sound checked by DNR officials and also at races. It has usually measured right at 100dB with spark arrester. One time it measured 103dB, but I think it needed repacked and that was without the SA.

With the TEC (Tuneable Exhaust Caps) kit you can make it quieter, but it also makes the exit hole smaller, therefore increasing back pressure and reducing total flow. With the medium TEC cap I would estimate about 96dB, with the small cap, probably about 92 dB. These are just guesses, I have not sound tested it with these caps on.

With the small TEC insert the hole is as small as or smaller than the stock exhaust. It would be a total waste of money getting the Yosh pipe if you plan on using the small cap, in my opinion. Other than the fact that it looks awesome!

i never said i was not going to rejet. i was simply stating what the instructions said. i do plan to rejet once i get an aftermarket filter and mod the airbox.
also, if you do not need a spark arrestor/quiet core they can be removed, the e2 comes with an additional end cap which makes the outlet about 2".

At this point in time I don't think there are any quiet pipes on the market that perform. Seen some guys with a FMF Q out at Devils Dune on their Raptors and they ran like stockers. I know these places are working furiously on it though, the first one with a quiet 4 stroke pipe that works is gonna be rich.
