Default HUB OIL 2004 400 SPORTSMAN

Changing my hub oil for the first time. what is the proper fill procedure. How do I know it is full

Fill it at a 4:00 position. It doesnt take much. Once it starts dripping out at the 4:00 position, you are full.

I'm not sure I understand. I fill and then turn it to the 4 oclock position?How can I fill at 4

Default HUB OIL 2004 400 SPORTSMAN

You can fill it then turn it to the 4:00 position and let the excess drain. Or, like I do, turn it to the 4:00 position and use a syringe to inject the fluid in there. Or if you are using the Polaris hub fluid, the bottle should have a long neck on it which will make it easy to put in at that position

Gotcha thanks .I'm using the Polaris oil but no long neck or tube. I'll fill and turn wheel. I have 680 miles and it's never been changed it is time

LOL. Yep. Time to change it. Each hub only holds a few ounces, so dont be worried if very little comes out.
