Default Greasing the Swing Arm...

For those of you who are tired of taking apart your unit's Swing Arm for greasing, you can install a grease fitting into it (if one doesn't already exist). I just finished the installation of a grease fitting into our Pred-90's Swing Arm.

Here's the steps I used:

a - Purchase 3/16" straight direction Drive-In type Grease Fitting.
b - Take 5/32" drill bit and mark its needed depth with tape on the bit.
c - Put the mini on a high "belly mount" stand and ensure it's secure.
d - Crawl under the mini. (You'll need a good back for this).
e - Drill upwards into the Swing Arm Bar - to the depth of the tape.
f - Using a proper size socket and an 8" extension, hammer in the grease nipple.
g - Apply grease until it comes out one of the Swing Arm busing ends.
* It took me 90 squirts before grease came out one of its end bushings.

For a visual, surf:

- Press Here 1 -
- Press Here 2 -
- Press Here 3 -

At our Pred-90's next 6 month greasing, I only need to grease its installed grease nipple with 3 or 4 squirts.

Hope this idea helps reduce your future Swing Arm greasing maintenance time.... .
