Default thining about gettin a dirtbike

well i was thinkin of findin a cheap 99 or 00 400ex, but the cheapest i can find is about $2500 US and by the time i get it back across the border its about $4000 canadian, altho thats a good price its still outta my price range, so i was thinking of gettin a dirtbike, i was thinking of a motocross bike and then put lights n stuff on it so i could still ride at nite, or i did find a 97 Kawasaki KDX 220 that was bought in 99 and has only had 1 owner, they're askin $2750CA, so i was thinkin that wouldn't be too bad of a bike for like $2500CA

I would strongly consider the KTM 300 E/XC. By FAR the best all around dirt bike made on the planet! She's my favorite mount in the garage. Plus you will gain valuable skills on two wheels.

I hear good things about the kdx220 from the bike rats!!! they realy like this bike!!! I have a 2004 crf250x and i love the lightness and it is easy to toss back and forth with plenty of power to do what i need to do!!! im planning on doing the bradshaw #6 trail with her real soon !!!!!(I got the holy living crap kicked out of me on my yz426 on this trail last year) Now its my turn

i'd love to be able to get a KTM they look like very nice bikes, plus my bomb dealer is also KTM dealer and they're good to work with but can't really find many older used KTMs, and i'd like to go for a four stroke but most are out of my price range,
btw does anyone know of any good dirtbike forums like this one?

A YZ 125 is not a good trail bike, ok for motocross and wide open areas.

A TT 125 is a good beginners bike for riding around your yard, but that's about it.
