RAD axel hub strips its bolts
#1
Went for a ride Sunday in the high sierra.
Was going fast down a trail when my friend motioned for me to stop.
He said take a look at your rear tire. I did and found that the bolts had stripped out from the hub.
Tried to tighten them as best I could. The bolts did a nice job of widening the holes on my brand new
T9 rim. I guess that was an expensive lesson for me. Not used to having to check tightness on hub bolts.
Stockers never untightened. New hub is $80. New rim $50. Lucky it didnt come all the way off I guess.
Vendor said they dont warranty anything related to their axels. I think it was around it $1000.
