I have found that the installation of a Clutch Kit will indeed reduce wear, but it will tend to strecth the belt more causing belt slap.
I have 2 Polaris belts with about the same amount of time on them, one was used with bone stock clutching , the other with a HPD aggressive Kit. The one run with the stock clutches measures about .045 narrower, than the one run with the kit. The one used with the kit still measures within Polaris spec but it slaps quite badly, and is noticably longer.
Just thought some of you might like to know.
See Ya, Drew

I wonder if it would have the same affect on an aftermarket belt such as the DaycoMax or Goodyear?

There are other variables that effect belt life, such as riding style and clutch alignment.

I curently use the Goodyear PowerStreak belt. I've had it on for about 4 months now and it shows no signs of wear. It seems to made of a superior rubber compound, compared to the OEM belt. Considering we charge $42 for a Polaris OEM belt (not by my choice!) why would'nt you move up and try the Goodyear for the same price?

Jerry I know that the polaris belt is pricey. I just found out I have a little more shim room and I will take out one more to get proper deflection with the longer belt. Thanks Drew

ScramblerDrew:
I have OEM Polaris belts for $34.95 less 10% or $31.45 plus shipping. Can get you a Dayco for $28.00, but have no experience with them. Any other Polaris parts will get you the same deal. We don't add to our price's, we discount.

If you discount why does one Goodyear Mudrunner cost over $100?
