Inept quad "mechanics"
#1
When I went to pick up my new Y2Kodiak I had to wait a long time while the sales person told me the bike was being gone over by their expert technitions to make sure the machine was set up correctly. So I waited a couple extra hours and brought the machine home. The sales guy said it took along time because these were the best tech guys, and nothing would get by them, so I thought it was worth the wait. Got the bike home, read the manual and inspected everything. Turns out, the tires were on backwards; left on right directional rotation wrong, and the rubber hub improperly mounted, so it would just fall off! Not a hard fix to change the tires, took about 15 minutes. Went back and bitched at the sales guy that bragged about his service guys. That's when I decided I needed the service manual. I'm certainly glad I didn't fall for the $1,000+ extended warranty/service package.
Other than that, I have no problems, and I love the Kodiak--Just a caveat, I think there's lots of stuff you can do yourself If you have just minimal wrenching ability. And I don't believe that you need to bring your bike to the dealer just for routine maintenance.

i totally agree with you. there are very few good wrenches in our area. the extended warrenty you mentioned is a total waste of money if you have minimal skills and a factory service manual.the dealer you bought it from (no doubt it was the motor sports group) truley sucks when it comes to standing behind what they sell, and make alot of money off these warrenties.
