Default Trail Blazer Over Heating?

I have a 2000 Trailblazer 250. My g/f was riding it yesterday on an 8 mile trail, about 6 miles into the trail it started bogging down. After 7 miles it almost would not go at all. I towed her back and started it up and everything was ok. I assume it was overheating, but I can't figure out why, the fins on the head are clean. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

It was in the high 90s and she was just putting along, not pushing it at all.

heres an idea...I know that when the gas is low in ours...it will bog down...it will still go some...but it will soon compleltly die...if you look in the tank and if there is gas, but still bogging down...try to switch to the reserve tank...maybe that could have been it?
