I just checked my compression on our 98 TrailBoss after it over heated. Is 130psi high or low?
Sounds like you are running way to lean, I had the same problem in 100 degree heat out at the dunes and was useing a 200 jet.

your jetting is really screwed up. when i went from 0 elevation to about 3000 and didnt change jetting the engine was having lots of troubles with over heating. i would wait a few minutes then run it again and it would run for a while. find out what the color of the plug is and we will be able to help

My Trail Blazer is completley stock, can the jetting be off if it is original? The plug is black, but it has three tanks on it, isn't this normal for a two-stroke?

to rich! If she was just putting along, then I prolly just got loaded up. The jetting can be wrong from factory, depends on where it came from... Check my Galley, at the top there is a link for a Mukuni carb tuning manual . pdf download. THis will help you at the least to figure out how to jet it. Not sure if it uses the same type of carb or not as the 400 and 500!?
