Default Changing the oil on my 01 400 sportsman

I have a couple questions for the pro's. First how much oil will I need and second, I know where the drain plug is on the oil tank and the screen is on the back, do I have to drain the sump and where is the plug. The oil has been changed a couple times by the dealer and I thought I would do it this time. Thanks for your help.

You need 2 quarts of Polaris oil, Amsoil 0W-40, or Mobil 1 0W-40 synthetic oil. Yes, you do need to drain the sump. If you take off the skid plate, you will see a drain plug that comes out the side of the bottom of the crankcase. That is your drain plug. Polaris actually sells a oil change service kit, if you want to go that way as well. Has 3 qts of oil, filter, and drain plug plastic washer.
