Has this ever happened to anyone? The rubber stopper plug above the pipe header blew out last Saturday and spat oil all over the place. Is this anyone has experineced? A lil input would be wonderful.

I believe you can do a search on this and find lots of complaints.

go to thumpertalk.com and click on "TT products" then look for the "YFZ decomp plug". its like $15-$20.

the stock one is a plastic plug...the aftermarket is aluminum and his held in with the set screw and will not come out again.

the old dirt bike engines used that opening for decompression...that is now accomplished through the cam. Yamaha thought they could slap a plastic cap in there...under load, the plug pops out pumping your engines life blood everywhere.

Thanks for the help everyone the part is ordered and should be in by Friday. Had to cut the trip from Dumont short cause of the Darn thing. I'm just glad it blew before the night ride ..... It would have sucked if I had blown the engine. Freaking Yamaha!
