Default clutch troubles

I replaced my belt on my 500 scrambler and noticed that there is a noticeable groove in the drive clutch. I also noticed that when i put a new belt on efore that my bike was alot more snappy. This time it wasnt there. It also seems when i nail it the rpm goes up and the belt seems to be slipping. Is this groove the trouble or could my spring be week? I have my stock spring in and over 12000 km on it. If i was to replace the clutch should i go stock? any comments are welcome

Your clutch is bad.Spring could be too. But the groove changes the ratio of the tranny.A hard compound belt will wear them ouut. What brand of belt did you last put on?
