About a week ago I sold my 2004 Raptor to someone in the Baltimore area. I placed an ad in the Baltimore Sun and met with the individual after receiving a call. Turns out the loser gave me a forged cashier's check. Not only is the bank not claiming responsibility, but it looks like my insurance company is doing there best not to pay me(big surprise). This has been an absolute nightmare, no one will help me. The police don't really take this seriously. I bet if they just lost 5 thousand dollars the investigation would be a little more thorough. I will never accept another Cashier's Check. Please don't let this happen to you.

If any of you have the ability to trace phone numbers, please let me know. For some reason the police will not trace the phone number that the loser last called me on. They said they do not want to spend the money. I got the guys number from my caller i.d.

Try this website. I looked up my phone number and it gave my correct name and address. If the guy was stupid enough to call you from his home phone, this may work. I do not know if it works for cell phones.

Fake Cashier checks is a huge problem. My wife works in a bank and she says Cashier checks are not safe anymore. They are easily copied. Never give the product until the check clears. Always try to take cash. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

 

Might have been a Baltimore Cop. They are about the dirtiest in the business. They can't even manage to keep the top two guys clean on more than one occasion in the last two years.

just type "reverse phone book" in google.com It'll give you plenty of reverse lookup websites.
