Default 83 250r sprocket

Hey guys, quick question. The chain on my R seems a little loose, and the bike revs out quick (18's on the back). So, to kill 2 birds with one stone, I'm thinking about changing the front sprocket from a 13 to a 14 tooth. Good or bad idea? Will I need to add links to the chain? Thanks

if your chain is loose and with you running 18's ....a 14 is a good Idea. You should not need to add links to the chain as long as you have a little adjustment left to loosen the chain. What are you running for a rear sprocket?
