timing chain. What the heck did I do wrong

Default timing chain. What the heck did I do wrong

I was installing my new head for my warrior and I got everything installed just as the book said got the head on and torgued down and everything but now there is a dilemma my timing chain is acting like it's to short to fit on the cam I don't know why it was on the other head with slack and I checked every year of the warrior and the heads were all the same so could it be hung up on anything could my exhaust chain guide be on wrong someone please help me because I am fiending for a ride I do have a book and I went step by step so I just don't know what happened please help

got it fixed chain had slipped off the crank in the process thanks for all the looks
