Hello, my uncle just had his 2006 450r drop a valve and he gave it to me to fix. Well after I told him what was wrong ( head,piston, crank, cylinder was trashed.) he gave me the frame. Alls there but the motor. I was wondering if I could slap my 2002 300ex motor in there just for the heck of it or would it be a waste of time?

 

There are people who put 4 cylinder street motorcycle engines in ATVs and 120hp snowmobile motor in ATVs so anything is possible.

Here is a guy with a GSXR 1000 Motor in his Raptor.

 

With a little fab work for motor mounts and exhaust/intake sure. Why wouldn't he rebuild the 450? Sure it is going to be spendy, but then he will have an essentially new motor when done, ready for another 9 year(+) run hopefully.

 

He's going to rebuild the motor. He's just seen that my 300ex frame was junk. Let's just say I'm his favorite nephew!
