dynajet needle questions.....
#1
im tying to re-jet my stock carb,...the jet thing is fine,..the dynajet needle is whats giving me a hard time..it seems to run like it starves for fuel,...
when using the dynajet needle, do i re-use the 3 washers/spacers that was on the stock needle...i belive there is a white plastic one...thin metal one....and i bit thicker metal one.....
or do i just use the thin washer and clip provided in the kit?.......

ok great...it all makes sense now,....
now for the same old question youve all seen too many times in here:
is it a good idea to go by what the kit says ...ive got an e-series pipe with stock head pipe...
k&n replacement filter...
carb spring cut ( 4 coils)..
kit says,..185 jet with needle on 2nd line....2 turns out....
im at around 500 ft....i was thinking more like...190 0r 195 at 3rd clip 3 turns.....
anyone in my area running simmilar combos?...

You didn't mention in your post what jets you are using. The dynojet needle is NOT compatible with the stock type jets. The dynojet needle need to be used with the dynojet jets. I would follow the instructions that they come with, chances are you will be within one or two adjustments from perfect.

Start with this:
Run the #190 DJ
DJ Needle in #4 position
air / fuel screw 3.0 turns out
The Air / Fuel screw is 2.5 stock, and I have -never- heard of anyone running more than 3.0. Everyone running the stock carb will be between 2.5, 2.75 and 3.0 turns.
You'll probably end up at #3 or #4, but you want to err on the side of being rich.
When I was running the e-series on my 2001 I ran the #185 from sea level to 7000 ft (yes, there is actually a riding area around here at 7000 ft, amazing as it may be.) With the needle in slot 4 you should be close to the right needle spot as well.
