I notice many of you have full body skids for your Wolv's. I'm interested what brand and what you had to pay for them.

Does Yamaha offer these? I have seen DG's but then again they seem to be awful proud of them as well.

Thanks in advance,

I have a 99 Wolvering and I purchased a full body skid plate from my local dealer. It was made from aluminum and cost around $90. It is very durable though and I would reccomend it!

Hunting skid plate is made of high impact plastic (lighter), the sport skid plate in Yamaha's booklet is a Thick aluminum plate. I have the hunting one and it does just fine. My brother has the aluminum and it does the same job just as well.......I dunno the prices on them but hey go with the lighter one. Just my opinion.

Before you install them I would drill a hole so that you can get to the front diff. drain plug. I looked on Yamaha web site and seen the skid plates you are talking about. Unless they have not updated the pics the lower half is plastic and the front is Aluminum. I found this out when I was going to buy them from the dealer a year and a half ago. That might have changed but the one in the pic is the same one the dealer showed me a while back. Hope this helps

I got prm skids they work very well and cost only 80 bucks for the full belly skid and the 2 a arm skids, you will have to cut off the dinky factory skid but its not worth having on there anyway.
