I was riding today and after about a hour whenever i would let off the throttle the bike would kinda nose dive feeling like it was dragging, but if i pulled in the clutch it would roll fine. Also in 3rd gear it would feel like all the power wasnt going to the ground, is my clutch going out or what? When i got home i rode it after it cooled off and it was fine. Also when i reved it up smoke would come out of the crankcase brether vent tube. I just changed my oil recently, and i checked when i got home and it was low

 

Smoke out of crankcase breather would lead me to check compression. Rings? Cracked piston? Check compression?

You don't think it got low enough to hurt the crank do you? Smoke from the crank not getting enough oil?

Souldn't your oil pressure switch go if you are low on oil? It seems from what I've heard, the dummy light doesn't come on quick enough?

 

doesn't sound good and it doesn't sound like the clutch.

 

If you have smoke coming out of the crankcase breather then you have blow by caused by the rings, or it could be the piston also, it could have broke or cracked, but it sounds like there is definatly a problem. Looks like it might be time for a big bore...LOL

PULL YOUR OIL FILTER PRONTO!! If it has magnetic debris embedded in it you may have main bearing problems. Smoke coming from the crank case vent can only mean ONE THING: Extremely hot oil!!!!

 

I pulled the oil filter, i couldnt see any debris on the filter but i wipe my finger through the oil and i could see small metal shavings but it wasnt bad. When i rev the bike up to high rpms and let off it goes back down to idle really fast, sounds like it not rotating freely, i really dont know how to explain it. do u think that might be the crank bearing. i guess ill have to take it to randell because i dont know what it is. BTY when i rode it last the fan stayed on constantly and the air it was blowing was really hot, i just put i new fan switch in could i of gotten an air pocket in my coolant. i guess thats the last of my problems now $$$$$$$$$$$$

 

I see your running the barnett clutch plates....You should also also check the oil screen in the oil tank. That one gets all plugged up quick. And when i ran the barnetts....well lets just say it cost me a necasill job on the cylinder and my oil screen was full of fiber flakes.

Its in the black oil line comeing out of your oil tank on the bottom.

 

When you refilled the oil, did you fill the engine with the correct oil??? you have a gasket blown and coolant may be getting into the system. check the coolant for any contamination...
