I have bought the mr. hp ported intake. I'm wondering the best way to modify my rubber boot from the carb to the intake. I want to gain the most hp. I got a dremel to sand away some material. The idea is to create the smoothest (no ledges, shoulders, bulges etc.) from the carb to the intake? His ported intake has veins out to the mouth of the intake so the intake kinda has a sideways 8 shape. I should shape that end of the boot to the intake shape?? any tips would be great..

 

Trim the lip(with a razor blade) that hangs down inside the boot until it is slightly larger than the carb bore. Check after tightening the carb clamps because it will sometimes squish into the airflow path. These directions are for stock carb setup by the way.
