Default Sportsman 700 upgrades

I have had my 04.5 sp700 for about eight months now and I was wondering what any of you guy's have done to get more out of it? I have heard that they are detuned from the factory and I want to retune it to get the max out of it. Any info would be great! Thanks in advance

If it is like any other ute out there the basics all apply. Clutch kit, k&n, and an exhaust system. If it isn't fuel injected you shouold be able to rejet it.

Yeah, most quads come out running a little on the rich side so that you don't run the risk of cooking the engine. So if you re-jet to be a little leaner you should be able to pick up some HP.

The best way to improve the performance and reliabillity of a Sportsman 700 is to take the handle bars off and install them on a AC 650, Prairie 700 or the new Brute Force. That will increase your performance a whole lot and trim about 100 pounds off your ride as well. That is the quickest way I know to make a Sportsman better.

That's a good one How 'bout that new Kawi? Now with IRS the Polaris boys have some serious competition. I still worry about that little motor in the tranny that creates belt tension for engine braking. Too much electrical stuff for me, and the front diff locking system, I would just rather gas it and go with Polaris AWD. But 750 cc's in V-Twin form, that thing is gonna scream, especially at only 604 lbs. In a perfect world we would just buy both, a Polaris and the Brute Force, why not the Prairie too while we're at it. For now I'll ride my sp600, it's enough for me, for now
