I need to know if ther eare any big bore kits stroker kits or long rod kits for a cr500. I will be fitting it in a trx 250r frame and i would like tou use it for drag racing, are there any mounts for my specific aplication to cut down on vibration. any advice would be great

 

The best advice I have is: DON'T DO IT!!!
You'll never control the vibration issues.... Build the 250R motor to a 370 and it will RUN....

PM dabeechMan... he's been there done that with the big bore motors on the 250...

I've been there done that on the TRX500R... I ruined the bike completely, then sold it. I think I still have a few fillings loose!

I've been looking for one too but cant find one. I know someone builds one back east for hill climb bikes but I dont know who (610 long rod kit). I'm going to run NOS this seasion and it should put out 100+ hp. As far as mounts go use 1\4 inc thich tabs. I can email you pics of how I did mine. it does vibe and always will. I have got mine perfect except for that the head lights fall apart every 2 trips. I wiil be getting beefer one anyway. I had to gusset the sub frame and a coulple other spots. Also I moved the motor up from the stock postion to aline the shifter and kickstarter and to help keep the front end down. I can hook you up with a billet intake that will line up the carb better. What year motor are you using? check out my bike and feel free to ask me ?????????????????????'s. I know a lot about this project. Its fast andf fun as Hell.

The 500's vibrate pretty bad because the lack of a counterbalancer. They vibrate extremely bad so it would be in your best intrest to loc-tite every nut and bolt, many gussets and frequent tear downs to ensure nothing is cracked or broken. Its a big hassle when you can make the same power out of a smaller, more reliable (chassis wise) big bore 250r motor.

To answer your question there is a big bore/stroke motors that you can built. Not really a "kit" since all it does is stroke a crank. Just find a builder and he'll do it for you. BUT by doing this you arent helping the vibration issue any.

 

Hey Cheese Wad, I dont think you were in 1st gear in your pics of doing a wheelie., besides I had a few beers down the hatch in those pictures. After breaking your back it might melow you out a bit. Well hardly I just say that till I'm on my bike and things change. lol. Give me a 4-stroke and I'll do a wheelie in 1st.

OOps, ( sorry I cant read or spell, shoud have went to school). I was just messin with you anyway beech. I was In 3rd or 4th comming down the hill and hit it on the take off lip. Looks like I cant make it to pismo till the weekend after 4th. I really wanted to see you run and check out your friends bikes. I would have gotten whooped anyway. I'm pissed at my flakey friends. We will meet up some time beech, Catch you on the flip side.

 

you dont need all your friends to head to pismo. It should be a good time with a lot of fast bikes. Doesnt matter if you get beat or not, you can always race 4-strokes! haha

 

yea but I dont want to camp by myself. I'm not the tag along 5th wheel type. Plus my friends all have trucks and I have a suburban and a 24 foot inclose that I dont want to haul with 1 bike 8 hours.
