Default HMF slip on jetting?

To you people running an HMF slip on, how many jet sizes did you increase your main jet when you installed your HMF?

I have a 175 Mikuni with needle in 3rd position. I may be a tad heavy at 175.

I did have a 185 dynojet with dynojet needle in the 3rd or 4th position.

Has anyone compared the end cap to the HMF exaust.
Good or Bad.
Ive been thinking about getting an HMF slip on with the spark arrester and quite core.
Does the spark arrester/quite core Remove easly?

Jet sizes the hmf web page recommends 5 to 7 size up.

Isn't the stock needle clip position #3? I have a 170 main jet in mine, and at 6000 ft elevation is seems to start good, idle good, is good just off idle, and feels good on top end. But mine seems flat right in the middle. Perhaps I need to move my needle clip to slot #4.

I'm at about 700ft evelevation. I also have a 45 pilot jet. I have not tried to move the needle to #4 yet.

As I understand it the end cap flows great. The closest thing to an endcap is the HMF. I had my HMF before the whole end deal. The up side is the HMF looks better & weighs less too, but at $100+ more than the end cap.
The quiet insert & spark arrester are changed using the 3 allen head screws on the outlet. easy as could be.
The thing with the quiet core.... It's quiet & really doesn't run that bad, but you have to jet down.

BAJArider, you hit Long Lake (quarry) yet? He didn't like my loud HMF last time I went.

Andrew,
Yep Long's is where I ride. I have a buddy who lives a block away from longs and I park at his house and just ride over to longs.
The guys who feed the animals and maintain the grounds at longs quarry are some real characters (Many years of inbreeding I think ).
I get a years membership there for $75.00 per year, and i can swim, ride, camp and fish. I have never camped there.

The guys at longs havent said anything to me about the loud end cap yet, but when I see them I dont get on it, and i keep my rpms down below 3 grand. And I make it a point to have friendly chit chat with them when I see them. I also give them deer and geese during hunting season, they like me.

On the HMF is the quiet core and spark arrester one peice or can you use one and not the other?

Thanks Barlett,

The quiet core & spark arrester are 2 seperate parts. Use 1 each or use together.

Yeah I always got along with most of the long lakes guys. But there was a new guy there that complained that one day.
Yes they are strange cats. They gave my wife the creeps I think!
Is the drag strip still open? Or is it filled with junk now?

If they let me in maybe we'll have to go there & play....

It's not near as "Harley like" seems pop pop, than boom boom.

Hard to describe. I think HMF is working on a whole new series of quiet pipes right now though.
