Default Rear Tire size/performance question

i'm not really a hardcore rider. i just have a fourtrax 300 2x4 for doing utility work on my land. There's not much mud although it is fairly steep in some places with a bit of mud - mostly it's just soft, slick, and overgrown with blackberry bushes and such. I'm mowing parts of it with a Swisher 44" Trailcutter and pulling a small trailer for moving brush and stuff around. So far so good. I've gotten stuck a few times with the mower on slight inclines because there's not much tread left on the rear tires.

My rear tires (look kinda like Carlisle Stryker's) are pretty worn and I want to get some new ones. i know nothing about sizes and performance. The current rear tires are 25x12x9. I'd like something that would give me good traction in snow/slight mud and max power. Should I go with a more narrow tire? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
