Are there any u joint specific tools need to remove the u joint on a 99 big bear. I assume you need a snap ring remover or somthing like that but after you pull the snap rings or c-clips is it free? What else is involved.

 

Soak them good with penetrant a day or so before hand. The cups on the joints are press fit, so once the clips are out, you will need to press or tap them apart. A strong c clamp, or hammer and socket, slightly smaller than the cup od are the usual tools. Take a look at the new parts to see how they are assembled. Be patient and don't use extreme violence.
