My 4WD grabs a lot even when I'm in 2wd and I narrowed it down to the front left wheel. I went to change the fluid in it thinking it was low or dirty. When I tried to drain it it was bone dry nothing in it at all. Is that enough to wreck it. It's a 97 scrambler 500 and I have no idea how long it hasn't had fluid. Does anyone have an extra hub I could pick up? Will 400 Scrambler hubs fit in my 97?

theres a pair of used hubs and wheel bearings on ebay, goin fer cheap right now.

Take it apart and find out for sure. Check the bearings and races. The hillard clutch assembley is VERY expensive so I wouldnt replace that unles you have to. You can always buy new bearings and races for it. And yes, the 400 hub will fit. In fact, ALL the Polaris 4x4 front hubs will fit (scramblers, Sportsmans (excluding the 600 and 700), and the magnums, Xpedition, and Explores.)
