Top End Rebuild
#2
Did you blow it or is the compression just low? If it's a 97 and has had the top end freshened before then you probably just need new rings and posibly you need to hone the cyilnders as well as new piston and rings. It's not all that complicated but don't get it bored out unless you have to. if the compression is way down and it has never been rebuilt before then it's probably a good idea to replace the pistons and rings as well as bore your cylinders .10-.20 over. just use your head and try to think of ways to save money because remind you, you have 2 cyilnders to deal with. a set of new wiseco pistons and rings will run you about 150 for the shee, then to get the cylinders bored and honed will be about the same price, then youll have labor wich will be about the same for a cheasy shop. Good luck if you have questions holla
If the compression is just a lil low andyou've been runnin a good oil in it, then chances are you just need to freshen it with some new rings and that wont cost much at all.

I'm not sure exactly what is wrong inside yet. All I know is that cylinder will not fire hardly at all and the other one will just fine. I checked the spark and fuel and air to that cylinder and all check out ok. I did notice a bit of oil "splatter" on that side of the engine that was not there before but I could not tell where it came from. As far as I know this Banshee has never been rebuilt before.
