Hello,

I have an 04 Eiger. When in neutral, it hesitates and backfires a little when I rev it up. When running, it is really slow to accelerate. I've tried running some fuel system cleaner through it and it still does so. Any ideas?

How old is the gas? Bad gas will do this.
Is it hard to start?
If you pull the choke on before doing this, will it get better? Pulling on the choke will richen things up, and if its lean, it should be better with the choke on.

 

check out the eiger carb/jetting info...

your mixture screw from the factory is all screwed up supposedly...i tuned mine and it now runs mint.

If I open the choke, it bogs down even further. The gas should be OK. I was able to ride and burn through the gas that I had and I added some fresh 91 octane and the cleaner. Same problem.

It starts fine too.

I would have thought it was lean.
Try removing the air box lid for a test drive...this will lean it out, and will run better if its too rich now.
Hows the spark plug look? Air filter clean and reoiled?
Have you tried adjusting the mixture screw?

 

The screw did the trick.

Awesome! It idles like a champ now. All I have to do now is convince my wife that I need to go back out and try it again this weekend.
