Replacing 1999 400 Sport Primary Spring Q's
#1
Ok I know it's been asked a million times, however, I looked at my Polaris Repair Manual and it looks simple. Is it as simple as it seems as following the step by step directions as it says? Any helpful insight... this thread seems to make it pretty simple.

Yea that post covers it. I do it by myself. You can hold the primary cover after spring replacement with both hands and already have the center bolt in position. Compress the primary spring with the cover with one hand on each side and with a couple fingers you can thread the center bolt in as far as you can. It will hold it in position for you to install the six outer bolts. Make sure you reinstall the nylon bushing back on the center bolt.

I found that I could do any of the springs by myself until I got to one ultra high engagement maroon spring. I had to set down and push with both hands until my wife could start the bolt. That baby was stiff! Just make sure you line up the X marks and only torque the outer bolts to 90 INCH lbs and the center one to 45ft lbs. Then your ready to go ride!
