i have a 1994 blaster that ran great until 2 mnths ago. i started kicking it do go ride and it backfired. once i got up from behind the cabinet i tryed cleaning the carb and changnig plug, it worked. so i went riding for like 3 minues and it was running great then it bogged out. i tryed starting agin and it backfired. i had to call my dad to get his truck to get my bike back to my house. it hasnt ran since.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-mad.gif[/img]

Check your ignition system, A slight air leak could also cause a backfire.

 

Mine backfired like that whenever I was low on fuel and had my gas/oil ratio not like it should be.

May want to check that out.

 

you might need different jetting depending on tempeture and the mods you hve, if not maby ur oil pump is failing. does the oil light continue to stay on?

 

mix ur gass
look for air leaks between carb n engine
make sure fuel is gettin to carb
make sure u didnt blow motor by the oil pumpo failin

 

take the flywheel cover off and see if the flywheel is tightly attached to the crank. ddi ya sheer the key? put a stock key back in it for now. then check out the fuel.. no more lawnmower gas... get good stuff! clean air filter? it'll pop in the muffler if its running way too rich too. check the aintake system for air leaks, and check that barrel gasket for air leaks too. thats the gasket between the cylinder and the case...it can leak air there too, make it run lean, and it'll pop in the exhaust as well. youll spot it. its a simple engine man.

remember too that it just may be wore out.. ring and/or piston time...2 strokes dont run forever...a compression test may be helpful and its simple to do. a car compression tester will fit.
