Dont ever use gasoline. It ruins the filter. I asume it is a stock filter if thats what you are doing. Go buy a $20 uni filter and get some cleaner and spray for it. You have a couple thousand in a quad dont go cheap on a filter. JMO

i use gas to clean all my filters... it does it quick, easy and very well... especially foam filters... the cleaning spray takes forever and doesnt work all that great... gas takes 3 seconds to clean it and another 5 seconds to dry!!! lol.
it may ruin them over time... but thats pretty much all ive ever used.

It's 1/2" for those of you who don't own a ruler, tape measure or calipers.

I second this. If it does start to fall apart then I replace it with a new one. They are pretty cheap to replace dont try and hold on to a used airfilter that may damage your engine in time. Proflows last the longest so far.
