Default Scrambler 500 & Towing

I currently exploring the best trail bike that I can also use for hunting/towing. I noticed that they have a hitch kit for the Scrambler. Does anyone have any experience towing with this machine? Does the manufacturer have a limit.....or is it at your own risk?? Thanks

I have a hitch on my '99 500. I pulled a light trailer with about 500lbs of rocks and dirt total weight was maybe 800 lbs and for the most part it did ok. One time on accel from a stop in the yard the belt slipped and then smoked. So, I think, that as long as you are moving or dont have to get a lot of weight going from a dead stop it will be ok. Good luck.

There is a tonge weight and trailering limit but am not sure what they are on the 500. Remember this machine has no low range.
Proably something like 500 lb. limit.

i wouldnt recommend towing more than maybe 200lbs with a scrammy.......its just not designed for towing/pushing like the big utes

you will burn a belt in a hurry

My manual supplement says tongue weight 30 lbs., tow 850 lbs. max on level ground with a max incline of 15 deg.
That's for a 2x4 or 2x4 2000 Scrammy 400.
