owners of gas gas 300
#2
from what i've been told the 300 & 450 gasgas quads are about the same in accelleration, but the 450 tops out higher.
however, i changed my gearing on my 300 slightly(stock is 41/12 mine is now 43/13) and was able to gain some top speed. my motor is stock & i have the LTR jet kit & PV cover. motowest builds builds pipes & motor kits for the gasgas 2-strokes that can really hop up the HP and thus the top speed can be increased with gearing changes.... if desired. mickey dunlap's 4-stroke tech makes big bore kits for the 450 and he can make them rip. i talked with arlan from LRD recently, they are working on gasgas mods now... pipe etc.
what is the top speed? i don't know. i can say that I was able to walk away from a cannondale on a long straight at a local GP race recently.
getting yours through smackover? they're great people to work with.

i asked that same question about my LT250R.... it's now sold & gone. i like the 2-stroke zip.
there are a lot of racers asking that same question now too, many are going with either the 450R or the YFZ450, but class rules have a lot to do with it too. rumors keep going about suzuki having a 450 racer in the works too.
i still haven't seen the new huevos.
