power wise its probably the best four stroke I have ever ridden. We race and play on some pretty big sand dunes and it is the only four stroke that will shoot up some of the bigger dunes. We like to line up at the bottom of the big hills with our tires touching the hill and from a dead stop shoot the dunes. The raptor will not pull most of the hills but the 450 shoots right up them. its an awesome machine if it was a little more comfortable for bigger riders I would definatly buy one

it has close to the same hp but they just run so much different. The acceleration is so much better on the 450. I think thats what helps it shooting up the big sand dunes. The raptor cant keep its rpms up and has to turn off the hill while the yfz450 just keeps accelerating. Its powerband feels much like a two stroke on the 450.

the predators do better then the raptors in my opinion. We really havent had a predator with us when we were shooting the hills from a dead stop but my friends predator is usually quicker then most of the raptors. I know you can build a raptor to make it alot faster but im talking just piped and jetted raptors and piped and jetted predators. the raptor would have to turn off the hills while my two stroke and the yfzs were pulling wheelies up the hills. We really havent found any hills at the dunes the yfz or my two stroke wont climb as long as you can keep control. Sometimes the front wheels never touch and it gets a little hard to control and steer. The raptor just cant do that kind of climbing. The raptors have a ton of torque but to slow to accelerate

its awesome to be climbing a big dune and look between your pegs and your front tires arent even leaving a mark. Especially after a fresh rainstorm. It gets a little scary sometimes though. Ive grabbed a gear before heading up the hills and just about went over a time or two. I dont grab higher gears much anymore lol

most of the hills will climb around here arent very smooth... so it really sucks when you start to get outa control a lil bit... so i try to keep my fronts as low as i can.

Stock the Pred and Rap are close. But the YFZ's are quicker in acceleration. But who leaves anything stock anyway?
