Default Valve Springs/Cams

I am looking at getting new Cams and Valve Springs for my 2000 DS650.

Can anyone suggest good Cams that they have had good luck with?

Also, as for Valve Springs, I have found some titanium ones at Alba and some Shim Under Bucket Racing Valve Springs for twice the price of the titanium ones at On-Dunes. Can anyone tell me the best one, and why the huge price difference?

Thanks

Just remember one thing when you replace valve springs. The hardware to compress them the more power it robs from the motor. It’s simple. The tighter they are, the more power goes into compressing them. If there is not reason for it, do not change them. The aim is to get the softest valve springs you can, without causing valve bounce at max RPM.

I'm sorry, I don't understand this. What are HR cams? I was thinking of getting 109 Grind Web Racing Cams. It says that Shim Under Bucket valve springs are required. But I am wondering if instead of shim under bucket springs, just getting high performance Titanium springs will work the same.

Any suggestions?

HR cams are custom cams made by HorsePower Research aka MisterHP aka Eric.

His cams are similarly priced to the RWR cams. I believe there are a few people on this forum running his cams.

if you want to run high RPM don't get the PAMI springs, get Woods instead.
