Lots of talk lately about the turbo DS's. What about the turbo raptors? I thought the king had kenzs built him a 686 to turbo and then i hear it is a 727 turbo. Did it blow up once or twice? Have any other turbo bikes been having problems?So is there very many turbo rappy's out there?

 

I think one of them that they built threw a rod and kingies blew a head gasket at Pismo.

 

CT raptor posted earlier that KMS has a kenz 727 with nitrous and turbo that put out 180hp on a conservative dyno???

Frist let me be the frist to sayTHE RAPTOR WILL NEVER BE IN THE SAME LEAUGE AS THE DS DUE TO POOR DESIGN !!!! now that being said there has been some setbacks in the raptor game. as long as they run conservative 7LBS of boost they do good with clutch work!!! they will beat 99.9% of any thing 4-stroke

But turn the boost up and KAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABOOM !!!!!!! raptor parts all over the place !!!! But this is being addressed by the proper people with way better builds and quality parts.with some of the best minds in the buiness getting in on it.!!!And there are raptors running around that at lower boost are doing the job just fine.


Now on to the ds 11lbs of boost no prob-bob they can run with anything out there and hold togther real good and as of yet only the select few have seen a lightened ds run GAME OVER !!!!! but the ds appears to only need clutch mods Stock plates and ron wood springs seem to work fine at this level.


Which you have got to know is going to assure the ds the head posistion in this game we play!!!!!!


PST PSSSST PSSSST rappy guy's i think and am d@m sure if you run low boost and a carillo rod and clutch mods on the raptor you will beat 95% of any thing out there and keep the integrity of your bike in place 4-5 lbs

 

i hate to tell you this AZsand but the raptor is lighter has better suspension better stopping ablity better shocks and quicker

 

o yea and ive drag raced many DS650's with pipes at Newtwon Dragway and i wear them out every time with my 440 im running 5.4's in 100 yards just so you kno

 

azsand the ds can handle more power stronger parts (case's) than a raptor anyday of the week and there is no way a raptor will ever have 180 hp unless it has a R1 motor in it anyway i want to race it the best 2 out of 3 races up the hill i bet it want last one pass up the hill if it made it off the dyno without blowing up just like the rest of the turbo rappy's did (just what i hear)

 

There is currently NO 180hp raptor @ KMS this rumor is false-( there may be a 100hp rappy) and the source of such needs to be more careful in the future.
There are plans that may be a year or more out that include engine management systems to monitor all aspects of the turbo
/nitrous bikes to keep them in a safe and very powerful mode of operation but at this point the conversations are what the future holds and not what reality is currently! Lets keep the chat here accurate and reliable; unfound rumors can be damaging to innocent peoples reputations
